Garden room suppliers in Ireland
A separate space without building an extension
A garden room gives you a home office, gym, studio or hobby space at the end of the garden, without the cost and disruption of extending the house. A well-built one is insulated, glazed, wired and heated, and can be used all year round.
Browse listed garden room suppliers on Archizone, compare what they offer and contact them directly. It costs nothing to search, and new listings are added every week.
What to look for
Real insulation figures. Ask for wall, floor and roof build-ups and U-values, not just "fully insulated".
The base. Concrete slab, screw piles or timber frame base? Is it included in the price?
Electrical connection. The supply from the house must be installed and certified by a Registered Electrical Contractor.
Height and size. To stay within the Class 3 exemption, total garden structures must be 30 sq m or less and usually under 3 m high with a flat roof.
What is in the price. Flooring, lighting, heating, guttering, delivery, VAT. Two quotes that look similar can differ by thousands.

FAQ
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
Usually not, if it is behind the house, no more than 3 m high (4 m with a tiled or slated pitched roof), your garden structures total 30 sq m or less, and at least 25 sq m of open space remains. These limits apply since 27 July 2026.
Can I use a garden room as a bedroom?
Not under the standard Class 3 exemption, which excludes use for human habitation. A separate, time-limited exemption (Class 3A) covers small detached homes in rear gardens, with its own conditions and a requirement to notify the council.
How much does a garden room cost in Ireland?
As a rough 2026 guide, small rooms typically start around €6,500–€9,000, medium rooms of about 16–25 sq m around €13,500–€17,500, and large or high-spec rooms can go well beyond €20,000. Check exactly what each quote includes.
