Who we are

ArchiZone.ie (“ArchiZone”, “we”, “us”) is an online directory that helps people in Ireland find suppliers of construction, furniture, outdoor living, hospitality and sustainability products and services. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@archizone.ie.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit www.archizone.ie, create a member account, submit or manage a business listing, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

The data we collect and why

  • Visiting the site. Our hosting platform automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand how it is used. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running and securing the site.

  • Member accounts. When you sign up or log in we collect your email address and any name or profile details you provide. Passwords are handled by the Wix member login system and we cannot see them. We use this data so you can submit and edit your listings. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you (the Terms & Conditions).

  • Business listings. When you submit a listing we collect what you enter: company name, county, address, website, contact email, phone number, description, category, logo, photos and video link. Once approved, this information is published on ArchiZone.ie and is visible to everyone, including search engines, so please publish only business contact details you are happy to make public. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.

  • Plan purchases. When you buy a plan, you give us your name, contact details and billing details at checkout. Payments are processed by PayPal and the other payment providers available at checkout, through Wix; we receive your order details and confirmation of payment, but not your full card number. We keep order and invoice records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you, and complying with our legal obligations.

  • Listing claims. If you ask to claim a listing, we use your name, email address, plan and any message you send, together with a basic check of whether your email domain matches the business website, to decide whether to approve the claim. We keep the claim record for as long as the listing exists. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in keeping listings accurate and preventing misuse, and performing our agreement with you.

  • Listings we add ourselves. If we have added your business to ArchiZone.ie, we use publicly available business details such as the company name, address, website, email address and phone number. You can ask us to correct or remove the listing at any time by emailing info@archizone.ie. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a business directory.

  • Advertising and analytics. If you accept the relevant cookies, Google Ads and Google Analytics collect data about your visit, such as the pages you view, your device and approximate location, and whether you later take an action such as starting a plan. We use it to measure and improve our advertising and the site. Legal basis: your consent.

  • Enquiries. If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we use your name, email address and message to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, or taking steps you ask for before an agreement.

  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email. Legal basis: your consent.

  • Service emails. We send emails that are needed to run your account and listings, for example confirming that your listing has been received or approved. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run ArchiZone.ie, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Wix.com Ltd. and its affiliates, which provide website hosting, our database, member accounts, forms and email delivery.

  • Google Ireland Limited, which provides our business email (Google Workspace), where your enquiries and notifications are received, and, if you accept the relevant cookies, our advertising and analytics services (Google Ads and Google Analytics).

  • PayPal and the other payment providers you choose at checkout, which process payments for plans.

Your published listing details are visible to the public. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the EEA

Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in Israel and the United States. Where this happens it is protected by safeguards approved under the GDPR, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Please see the privacy policies of Wix and Google for details.

Cookies

ArchiZone.ie is built on Wix, which uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work, for example to keep you logged in, protect against fraud and remember your session. We also use Wix’s built-in analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as logging in, may then stop working. With your consent we also use Google Ads and Google Analytics cookies to measure how well our advertising works and how the site is used. These are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for archizone.ie in your browser, after which the banner will appear again.

How long we keep your data

  • Account, listing and claim data: for as long as your account or listing exists. If you ask us to delete your listing or account, we remove it within one month.

  • Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact with you.

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

  • Technical logs and analytics: for the periods set by our hosting provider, Wix, and by Google for Google Ads and Google Analytics cookies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to erase your data, to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, email info@archizone.ie. We will respond within one month. When you are logged in you can also edit or remove your listing yourself from My Listings.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (www.dataprotection.ie) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. The site is served over HTTPS and member passwords are managed by Wix. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

ArchiZone.ie is a business directory and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will let members know by email or with a notice on the site.
