Kitchen or fitted furniture: made-to-measure or flat-pack?

Getting a new kitchen, wardrobes or a bespoke piece? Share your room size, county and budget and ask the Irish makers here what's realistic.

Makers: tell people what to ask before ordering (materials, lead time, what's included in the fitting).

I think it really depends on the space and budget. Made-to-measure furniture is a good option if you have specific dimensions or want something that fits your room perfectly. Flat-pack can work well if you are looking for something more affordable and straightforward. Either way, I would always check the material quality and fitting costs before making a decision.

Timber frame, block or ICF: what are you building with?

If you're planning a house or an extension in Ireland, this is the first big decision. Tell us what you chose and why: cost, build speed, energy rating, what your engineer or builder recommended.

Suppliers and builders: what are you seeing on site this year? Lead times, prices, what clients ask for.

Show your work: share a project or a product

This is the place to show what you make or build: a finished kitchen, a timber-frame house going up, a new pergola range, a hotel you fitted out.

Add a few photos, two or three lines on what it was and where, and a link to your website or your Archizone profile so buyers can contact you directly.

Buyers: browse for ideas and message the company if you like what you see.

How to ask for a supplier (and get useful replies)

Planning a build, a renovation or a fit-out? Post here and Irish suppliers will reply with advice, prices and contact details. It's free for buyers.

To get good answers, include: what you need (e.g. triple-glazed windows for a 4-bed house, a kitchen, a heat pump, 40 restaurant chairs), your county or town, when you need it, a rough budget if you have one, and photos or drawings if you have them.

Suppliers: reply in the thread or send the person a message. Please keep it helpful, no copy-paste spam.
